Commercial Mausers-The "Long" and "Short" of it
      #246583 - 28/04/14 02:39 PM

Not often we see these two Models together. The Magnum has seen hard use, but with a good, bright bore.

The Short K action is a very good example. Sold by me to the present owner nearly 20 years ago and now offered for sale on his behalf at 10K each.

Any interest, please PM me for more detail.....otherwise please enjoy this rare pair.

Best
Eric

So in the way of "familial cousins" the world over, Aussies and Kiwis are always challenging each other. Now its well known that as the junior partner, about the only thing Kiwis can really punish the Aussies in is rugby, which they always say doesn't matter, but us Kiwis know it does.

So when Paradox posted up his excellent study, I felt the need to try and go one better.

And here it is, a short, intermediate and standard. I doubt you can make out the base stamps but maybe you can guess the calibres ?

Yes - Kurz 8x51 and intermediate in 7x57, but the standard was sold first in Rhodesia to European settlers there so is not an English cartridge.

Not Bad Tentman....but can you line up all four lengths.....in A Type of course !!!!

Oh and BTW where you talking about Rugby or Rugby League, I think its 16 years since you won one of those.
You are right though, no one cares.

Thank you for the pics

Best
Eric

Yes - Rugby Union - does League exist ??

Being a cousin from the wrong side of the tracks of-course they are Model B's, us poor cousins don't run to "A's"

And yes its a 9.3x62.

Regards All
Foster

PS the middle one (the intermediate 7x57)is in desperate need of restoration, really it is only an "action", thats why I was after a barrel and stock

Foster, i have two original 7x57 B type barrels complete with sights. If interested, send me a pm or get my email from Eric.

The one in the "worst" condition shoots 1,5 inch groups at 100m. Never did shoot the other.

Regards

Theo

Hello Theo

Banter haha, now for some reason it's always the most distant cousins who get the roughest treatment at family reunions - so - If you need me to do a "Suzie" so your Lions get a punt up the table I will (just as long as its not the Crusaders or Highlanders I have to hit !!) (for those needing background on this see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_Rugby_World_Cup_Final and all will become clear, just remember that Laurie Mains was never one to let the facts get in the way of a good story, and enjoyed pulling the media's leg, maybe this one just got a bit out of hand).

I have sent you a PM to discuss your wonderful offer.

Regards
Foster

You Kiwis really need to let go of the 95RWC. Next year will be the 20th anniversary of what turned out to be just another World cup failure. And Gunship, the Sharks have hardly played out side SA so far. Once their stats even up the South African effort looks pretty disappointing. Go the Honey Badger.

Nothing to let go of, everyone here knows it was just a Laurie Mains leg pull (he was great at keeping a straight face, and still is . . .) following a great match

You and Laurie may see it as a leg pull Tentman but I know alot of Kiwis that cling to the story. Next you will going on about underarm bowling.
