Left hand stock, right hand action. Certainly something out of the ordinary... An interesting rifle....

Some photos of that rifle when it was completed more than ten years ago. Original "K" Mauser action, 7-08 caliber, southpaw stock.

Hello DORLEAC,
This is my first post down here in spite I am a reader of this forum from a year ago. I am a hunter for most of my life, living since 1980 in Bariloche, Argentine Patagonia. I am an admirer of your work, indeed! I have some of my guns inherited from my grandfhater, a Frenchman, including one Gastinne-Renette side by side 12 ga shotgun made around 1900, with the only inscription under the flat of the barrels: "LEOPOLD BERNARD" (in one side) and "CANNONIER A PARIS" (in the other barrel). Just a curiosity...By the way, I have some relatives living now in France, near your town. I am going by June and would be really glad to visit your shop!
After this kind of presentation, my question is: I would like to know your oppinion about this Zeiss (or Hensoldt) Diavari 1,5-6x36. And some comentaries, if you are able to do, about this model in relation with the later ZA, Z and Victorys.
Thank you!

Joel,
As always, thanks for the build pictures, my friend! It is the mark of a true perfectionist when you carefully document all your gun builds for the future.
Whoever buys this masterpiece will be as happy as the original owner!

Patagon Hunter,
Leopold BERNARD was a top notch French barrel maker from the end of the IXX° century. Gastinne-Renette, also a great name in the gun trade and gun making, was one of the most prestigious firms at the same period. Now, about the "Diavari" D 1,5-6x36, it is the last of the classic Zeiss scopes and was produced until the end of sixties, before the advent of the Z and ZA newest line. Indeed they are of top notch quality and if well preserved much better than 80% of the modern imported scopes now on the market. However they can’t compete with the present products from ZEISS, SWAROVSKI, S&B or KHALES, but I like their look and their superb lacquered finish.
