Only seen a couple of these online. A Mauser with a square bolt shroud and right side safety. Anybody have some good info or detailed pictures?

Found it. On Mr. dorelac's site. Perhaps he could chime in on its function? Seems to be a one off on a magnum mauser refitted in the 90's

Better function of the M70 style or just different for the sake of different?

Dumprat,

For a right-handed shooter, the main advantage of a side swing safety with a left hand lever lies in the convenience of operation by the thumb of the hand that hold the grip.
It's much quicker and easy, as you don’t have to release the grip.
In USA, Satterlee Arms' - http://www.satterleearms.com/index.htm - offers a good left-side three position safety for $350.00 installed on your Mauser
Here, in Europe, we can use the version produced by Recknagel.

Yes I am familiar with the Necg and reckanegal. The one I am interested in has a square shroud with a safety on the right side. The safety lever moves vertically. One I saw had what looked to be a Lyman peep mounted to it.

And yes Dorlac I prefer the safety lever on the last side for a right handed shooter. My last rifle I had a Buhler like that. I may go that route again if I can find one.

Very nice scope mounts on that action by the way. Beautiful.
