It is a beautiful rifle, but IMO, is as useless as tits on a boar hog! Nothing more than a rich man's "LOOK AT ME" toy! This reflects the personality of it's owner.

These things are so heavy you can't carry one far, and if sticks are not available you can't hold it to shoot with any accuracy. The weight reduses your abiltiy to swing this thing for a second shot, in case the first one doesn't do the trick, and the recoil doesn't break your nose!

Mark Sullivan is much prouder of that thing than than it is worth! $165,000 USD,
Buy yourself three useful doubles with that money, A light little 9.3X74R,@$5K, a 450/400 3",for under $10K, and a 500NE, for $12,500, all new, for $27,500,total, and use the other $138,000 to go to African on five top notch safaris, at $27,700 USD each!

The 375 H&H bolt rifle is a good choice, as well, but if you have $165,000 USD to spend, why not go first class!

well i would rather use a sratched up well worn old rifle and save the money for first class hunts---have run into plenty of hunters armed with top notch gear that couldnt hunt/shoot for peanuts though i dont doubt good gear in skilled hands can be a better proposition--back to the original post i know i would rather use something a lot lighter for my months hunting for sure.

Good Lord that's a ton of money, but for those that have it... But even if I had that kind of money, I'd rather spread it around on quite a few other items, rather than just one so extravagant. I'd probably start with one of Searcy's beautiful double rifles in .470 N.E.
