World's greatest hunting rifle?

If I was going to pay that for a custom rifle I wouldn't have it built on a modified/upgraded/reworked Winchester Model 70 action nor glass bedded in a McMillian fiberglass stock.

Sorry, each to his own.

For that price ($15,500) I would be eager to get one of those beauties based on Mauser actions. http://www.mayr-jagdwaffen.com/english/takedown.php or http://www.dorleac-dorleac.com
I am sure the Legend is a fine rifle especially for the harsh conditions in North America but paying 15 grands for rifle based on Winchester Model 70 action with synthetic stock is beyond my understanding…

Hey its only 15 grand...its not like its thousands, oh wait..wow, that is a lot of money for a synthetic stocked rifle...

They are an incredible weapon no doubt..have a friend here in town who has one of his rifles before he became famous and expensive...awesome handling gun...but agree..seems a little over the top in price...

When you know all the work that goes in these rifles, the extremely close attention to details to get the most reliable action, the most accurate rifle and that they are made by a never satisfied d'Arcy who always tries to reach perfection, the price isn't the first thing to look at…!

$15,500...that's a new Double Rifle or maybe even two used ones added to my collection.

I'm with you Colin - THAT is a LOT of money for what looks to me to be a plain, plastic stocked rifle.

I'd much rather have something that LOOKED like it was a quality piece & had a presentation grade walnut stock - at least.

D'Arcy Echols does build some of the best bolt rifles in the world with exhibition wood and all the engraving you can afford and his prices reflect it. Although they are typically much less expensive than those built by the largest carriage trade names.

What sets his "Legend Series" synthetic rifles apart from other "look-alike" rifles is that they still the same mechanical fit and finish as his best rifles, only with one of his synthetic stocks. In that respect they are a lot like the original Rigby bolt rifles or Gold Name Wesley Richards SxS rifles. Genuine "Best" quality with no ornamentation. They are designed for a lifetime of trouble free use.
