Good candidate?
      #238122 - 21/11/13 12:51 PM

Looks like a good candidate for a conversion.
Not in my wheelhouse, so have at it.
Any thoughts?

When you could buy a Sabatti for under $4k, even with the if's and buts, why would you ? Just keep buying one and taking it back until you got one that worked.

Check out the seller's rep on doublegunshop.com first.

It might be a good idea to be attentive to the 3rd and 4th post above. Also to my mind a donor gun action to be used for a DR must have firing pin bushings originally--not later add on that can weaken the standing breech.

I'll save you the hassle of trying to use that search %00N.

The opening is Mr Goods comments (in the shaded areas) from other posts. It goes downhill from there.

This doesn't detract from the SG just the seller.

I really don't know anything about the seller but the gun looks remarkably like an Otto Geyger I had in 8x60R. I would easily say it is the same action but if memory serves my Geyger had a Greener side safety, otherwise the actions look identical. It was a beautiful gun both from looks and shooting. If it wasn't such a drag making cases I would probably still have it. The cases made from 9.3x74R's were never what I would consider perfect. They shot ok though they had a fairly short reloading life. Can't see where this is any different.
