Hi Guys,

Just got this back from Tony Small after he gave it a new rust blueing and a couple of other small "fix its"

Still has the original barrel.

Should be a good shooter...

Mark, it's going to be a dandy go to rifle!
Sambar deer or large porkers will be perfectly matched for that old soldier!
Bit fancy for my tastes, but it's your rig & you should be justly proud of it as you should!
Bet you make more than me jealous with this one!
Love the calibre!!!!
Oh, don't forget to add in your load just in case someone is chasing this one day.
My old P14 in .303 gets to just under 2700fps with 46gn AR22208 & a 150gn speer pill, anchors pigs real well, you should easy top that!
Cheers

Looking at the barrel profile and rear sight this started life as a carbine....rather scarce these days. Very nice conversion. Ron

First 3 shot group that I shot @ 100m with the rifle and factory Norma ammo. It's the group on the right.

Seems to me the 7.65X55 Argentine (Peruvian Mauser M98, not the Model 91 Mauser) can be loaded about duplicating factory .308Win., but it's been a long time since I've had anything to do with one - ie: 1976. My late 'best' buddy, Lester H. Hawkes had one - long barrel if I remember correctly.
My data (Pacific) shows 150's at 2,750fps with IMR powders and 2,920 with Norma 201. 175's are loaded to 2,570fps.
