Walter "Tiger" Smith

This is an historical photo of a local identity from the past.

Walter who became known as "Tiger" hunted abroad and travelled internationally in the early 1900's.

In the photo above, check out the two tigers, a leopard, a couple of fantastic sambar stags and what looks like a bear skin at his feet. All among the wine barrels.

(apologies for the lack of quality of the pic which I scanned from a photocopy)

Great photo John

However I do not believe in the history behind.

I think it's you John from your trip earlier this year and some photoshop playing. It's not so hard to create the old effect. Nice trophies though and tell us some more about the Tiger hunts please..

My great great grand father in the early 20:th century

Christer

Well from that photograph I am sure glad you took after your grandmother and not your grandfather.

Old Bjorn sure was an ugly old coot!

I do though think it would be nice to have the nickname "Tiger" .

By the way. This is the "vignerons" winery in 1925.

And today.

If I can't be a "Tiger Smith" can I be "Buffalo Jack"!

Oh I wish I was rich and lived 70 to 123 years ago!

Or even poor with an adventurous travel spirit.
