Elk Foundation..at that time a higher ranking official was also serving on the board..after a few beers one night he told me he had seen a document on his superiors desk stating one of the reasons to introduce the wolves was to stop the last season elk hunt of the northern herd..wolves kill all the elk..no more hunting..no more reason for a hunting season..no more reason to have guns..

Well, at that time the northern herd was over 21,000 animals..today it is just slightly over 4,000...and hey, guess what..no more late season elk hunt...weird..
