Just got this Alex Henry Rook rifle in the mail.
WOW! What a dainty little gun!
My wife asked if you need to hold your pinky out when you shoot it...

Damn! Given your post's title, I thought you were going to post that you had acquired the only known single shot Dickson Round Action rifle. This is the only time I can say that I'm honestly disappointed about an Alexander Henry!

Gorgeous rifle. Congrats. You need to share more info and pictures though.

Well, that's where its lineage goes astray...
Looks like it is lined to 22 Hornet but a cast is on the schedule.

Just lovely. While I see it as a capital offense to chamber a fine British single in a american varmint caliber, the 22Hornet almost gets a pass............almost....:):):)
Praise be that it doesn't have a tele' pole barrel and a big Unertl scope on it.

Yes, I tend to agree, but not knowing what the bore looked like pre-sleeving, I will reserve judgement. In fact, I have a couple other rooks with sewer pipe bores which I can't get to shoot very well and I must admit, the Hornet is a tempting alternative.

I did a chamber cast and it is indeed a standard Hornet.
The stalking safety didn't work but when I removed the lock, it was simply a loose screw which holds the safety slide in place. All better now
