Verney-Carron 404 built on a BRNO ZG47
      #229984 - 13/05/13 03:04 AM

Had this gun commisioned to showcase the abalities of Verney-Carron to not only make new custom rifles but also to make a custom rifle on a classic action.
Starting with a BRNO ZG47 the gun was barreled with a Lothar Walther barrel in 404J, along with a Recknagel safety & trigger and Webe 404 bottom metal. My only request was to make it look like a modern Mauser Model A.
Now I know this is a tough crowd. Before anyone starts nit picking remember they can do it any way you as the customer likes. Don't like the French grey receiver, they can blue it. Don't like the engraving, then they can do what you want.
Delivery less than a year. This gun was 8mo.

Yes, no nitpicking here...that is very, very nice! If you don't mind my asking, what is the weight of the rifle?

Very Nice. AS long as you like it, that is all that matters.

front sight needs some help it looks to a wisner or somesort,,this is what i did to a wisner they are a little to plain and component looking ,,other than that the gun looks to be well done i like that the bolt release area is not sculpted and the stock is not slimmed because of that ,,front sling swivel is nice ,,what is in the stock for recoil ? ....paul

Just finished packing guns to ship to 2014 Dallas Safari & then on to SCI/Las Vegas. This gun is included & will be available for a hands on look if you are coming to the shows.
Remember, V-C can make a gun look like anything the customers wants as this is a build to the customers specification with a fast delivery compared to most custom builders.
From my original post:

"they can do it any way you as the customer likes. Don't like the French grey receiver, they can blue it. Don't like the engraving, then they can do what you want.
Delivery less than a year. This gun was 8mo."

If you are going to DSC or SCI please stop by & say hello.
