Some quick photos of a Rodda 577/500
Dies and brass are on the way, so I hope to have this one shooting by Summer.

Shooting by summer? LOL I had 3 577/500's shooting today in a snow fall. Get on the stick and get it going soon!

Loved the photos, it gives me hope as I have a rather well-worn example and would like to tidy it up one day.

It will never look as good as yours, though!

The Scott back-action sidelocks are marvelous things and the .500 #2 is a very comfortable cartridge to shoot. Should be just the ticket for compiling a good supply of elk and bear steaks!

Sorry to say, I had to send it back.
The stock had been replaced from the grip back. Or the head of the stock was replaced but that is a ton of work and not much less than a total restock. It was done extremely well but was done with very strange dimensions.
Too bad, really, because it was a great looking rifle.
The seller made an offer to make the deal better but I just decided to pass on it in the end.

I seem to remember Wally (Prescott?) had a beautiful example, and there was one for sale in New Zealand for ages, in very tidy condition, oak and leather case with all the toys.
Always wondered where it ended up!

I was going to ask if you had a pic showing the weird stock dimensions, but changed my mind. Would rather just look at the marvelous photos of the action!

Just had a look back through my notes and Wally's Rodda was a .400.
Did find a pic of that one for sale in New Zealand, although it was 2006! Time sure flies....
