Merkel double in .500 NE

I have read that Merkel will be making a double in .500 NE.
would that be on the same action as the 470 NE ? Does someone know the price of this double ?
Any input is welcome

I bought my Merkel .500 NE a number of months back from Hendershot's in Maryland, USA. The cost, without tax, was in the $US 7500.00 range.

I'm not a tech savy as most others on this forum, so I can't answer the question about what action it is based upon. I'm sure someone will.

I can say, without a doubt, that I really love the way this gun looks, feels in my hands and shoots.

I'm very happy with my purchase.

Hendershot's website is http://www.hendershots.net If you call, ask for Lance Hendershot and tell him that Paul Hawk referred you. Lance is one hell of a GREAT guy to work with and VERY knowledgable in the firearms field.

Lance usually keeps a Merkel .500 in stock and as a matter of fact, he has one listed on gunsamerica.com.

Forgot one answer to your question. No, my gun does not have ejectors. I personally didn't want them when I was shopping for my rifle.

I wish they would build a 450-400-3", but when I talked to them that wasn't in the cards...Also the 500/416 would be a dandy choice....

I think the 500/416 may be the ultimate caliber in a double rifle as much as I like the 416 Rem and Rigby calibers, but I have yet to see or shoot a 500/416.

As far as I know Butch Searcy is the only double rifle maker offering a 450/400 3 inch today. I just wish he would make on with 26 in barrels.

I think a .500 NE would go very well with your .500 Jeffrey, Andre.

And around $8000 sounds like a good price. Can't get them in Aust for that.
