I dont understand exactly your question but imho $1300 is a fair price for this rifle . Another question is the caliber , 8x60 or 8x60S ?

Overhere such a rifle could be found from like USD600-800. Depends on the condition and caliber ofcouse. Calibers like 30-06, 8x57 or 7x57 would bring upwards USD800 where more oddball calibers brings less. The socalled collectable market for "Mauser" here is divided up to a few individuals, who won´t pay much for anything because they know all of a sudden som rare piece will show up sooner or later nobody wants. For me the genuine Oberndorf "Zivil" Mauser is still the finest. I actually get a little sad when I observe how many overhere disregard such piece in favor of a new Tikka or any other injectionmolded rubbergun.

Looks like a fine quality gun, but the not collectable rifles seem to vary big in price. Possibly a restocked model M? or is it a mutt?

IMHO nothing points to a Mauser, Oberndorf commercial production. Likely an interwar years custom job on a Gew98 military action. Would be about Euro 350.- here in Germany.
