Holland Paradox Value

Could anyone give me a rough idea of the value of a Holland and Holland 12ga Paradox fair to good condition, good bore, 80% blue (prob reblue), 1/2" to 3/4" cracks in stock near locks, chequering worn flat?

It's not the bore you have to worry about,
it's the paradox rifling in the end of the barrel
that's the important point.

Also, be prepared for some hefty costs with reloading
components and a steep learning curve.

Say, good rifling, hammerless top lever Royal or Dominion grade engraving.

Why are relaoding costs high - I had heard that the cost was near $0 - cast projectiles, plastic cases etc.

BP or Nitro? 2.5 or 2.75"?

I know of a Super Paradox (2.75") in a case / acc., 98% original condition from 1923. It is in the US and the asking price is $20,000. I think $12-15k would be more reasonable.

Said to by nitro but a late '90's gun. Owner not sure of case length but firing 2.75" in it!

Don't ya just love a dumbass that will shoot and gun and NOT know (or care) about chamber length or correct ammo/pressure. We used to have a gent come to the Cowboy Shoots here at Big Rock with a JP Sauer 16ga...knowing it had 2 1/2 chambers, but he would shoot 2 3/4 length shells. DUHHHHHHHHHHHH. If only a few more "folks" would have to pick steel bbl. sections out of their foreheads...and READ a bit.... (don't get me started, ha ha ) SP2

I suppose if a person were to start with NOTHING...just about any reloading venture might seem a bit high. For me it would be a "cake walk"...inasmuch as I cast and reload for just about a Ba-zillion calibers from .25acp on up to 12ga. But granted, the avg. reloader probably isn't going to be set up that well. All of the forementioned taken into account. If a person were to buy a mold, dipper, and MEC 600JR. (and perhaps a Lyman type "spinner" for crimping, they could reload some pretty good slug type ammo for a paradox at a reasonably decent price.
Wishing I only HAD a "paradox" to experiment for... SP2
(The bane of being a "full blown" reloader for so many years) (If they made it, I prob. bought it.)

If the checkering is worn flat, at least you know it has been carried/hunted with a LOT. But, what you don't know is:Was it used mostly as a "slug type gun" or a shotgun. IF it was used a LOT as a shotgun...what is the condition of the rifling...? I'd check it out VERY thoroughly as to leading in the forward end. Just a thought, SP2
PS. Ya never know when a good cleaning will turn a sour bore into a good shooter.

Have been away so couldn't post.

That's exactly what I meant. Most people MAY reload for Rifles but not many
people here reload for Shotguns. So if you buy a Paradox, you have to set yourself up
with SHOTGUN Reloading gear + moulds + all the other bits and pieces you need.
IF you add it up (Different Powder, Primers, Reference books, Dies, getting a swaging
die to swaged down your cast projectiles (remember every paradox is different and
you need to measure the bore accurately and get it to the right size for your gun etc etc etc),
then it all adds up.
