Pre-WWII S&W Heavy Duty w/5" barrel

Though I'm fairly certain it has been re-finished it's still one of my favorites. Manufactured in 1937. It's in very good condition and very accurate. One of my favorites and not an easy model to find for sale anymore. At one time nobody wanted a large framed S&W in .38 Special, but they do now. No the magna grips are not period correct but they came with the revolver. Right now I can't afford pre-war Large framed Magnas. They can cost more than a gun!

Yes! The daddy of the .357 Magnum.

This model is a much more significant development than most people realize. It ushered in the modern magnums we now all know and love.

The Triple Lock gave us the N frame hand ejector; but later, the .38 HD, designed for the "magnumized" .38 Super Police, led directly to the modern revolver cartridges.

Thanks for sharing.

Glad you like it. I traded a 1916 Erfurt P08 Luger for it. I've never regretted the trade.
