building double rifle 450 nitro or 458 lott

I have a shotgun cz cal 16 gauge and 2 barrel .458
what the best option nitro 450 3 1/4 or 458 lott ?

Felix,
16 ga. frame is too small, too light in weight for a good well balanced .450 double rifle. The 16 ga. may, indeed, hold up to the stress, but at the same time, it requires barrels to be excessively large in diameter, too heavy, throwing too much weight toward muzzles, not making a well balanced "between the hands" feel to the weight. I am sending you a PM to explain more of the problems in converting 16 ga. to .450 caliber.

what probems in converting 458 lott in relation to 450 nitro?
eject the 458 lott might fail ?
the problem of pressure of 458 lott be superior the 450 nitro ?

I'd opt out from using the Lott strickly because it's rimless. I'm sure that there is too much pressure also.

Think a .450 #2 might be a better solution. The larger the case, the lower the pressure for a shotgun conversion. .450 #2's have been done and posted here at www.nitroexpress.com in the past due to the lower pressure - something in the vein of 36,000CUP or 41,000PSI. The .450 Nitro is close to that at 44,000PSI and 39,000CUP. I'd feel much safer with those pressures in a shotgun frame, over the Lott's 54,000CUP, which is also listed as 61,000PSI.

A .500/465 might even be better, but would probably need a 12 bore frame?

450 number 2 and based on the 470 Brass?
barrel or 465 in brazil is not
have barrels .458
and I have a CZ 16 cal side lock engraving
yes I do as a 12 bore frame

No Felix, The 450 #2 is it's own unique case no really based onnany others. For your build possibly the 500/450 3 1/4" would be a better idea. That is also the same case that the 470 is based off from.

12 bore frame
sarrasqueta sidelock
aya sedelock
saint etienne boxlock
sauer boxlock
az sidelock
best on steel hardness and resistance

Felix, do a search. There have been several discussion about this earlier. My 450NE was built on a JP Sauer 12 ga frame and it's working fine. I have no ideas about rhe actions you've listed.

And when the time comes for me to have 450NE, I'm either gonna take Mike up on his previous offer, or have one built on a J.P. Sauer 12ga SxS action that I have stashed as a donor.
