Just curious ... is that what it would run to try and get it imported?

This is a better basis for a Lee Speed sporting type rifle, the one in the UK will cost a small fortune to get it to the US.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=317793608

The LEC action is better because it doesn't have the provision for the volley sight ,although this particular one is probably a bit to rare to mess with, if you could find one that's already been fooled with that would be the go.

Cheers
Pete

There listing states "Price: £425 (S/H) @ US$678/€526" I take that as £425 shipping and handling (not believing that, bet on twice that by the time it is done) with a selling price of US$678/€526. Maybe I am reading it wrong. Add to that your Importer/FFL's fee, permitting from ATF, Customs storage.............

My last import was a £245 1903 MS sporting rifle. Paid by wire on the Gavel at the not-to-be-named auction house. They shipped within three months to there NYC salesroom. They (NYC) being more of a art and furnishings brokerage, had no "Dealer" in residence. This caused un-do strife from ATF. Short of the Long story is, a 300.00us rifle cost me just over 1000.00 dollars and it has been 6 years and have not seen it.

S/H in that context and in the UK most likely means the seller is declaring it Second Hand.

We would talk about P & P for postage and packaging, rather than shipping and handling which hasn't really crossed to this side of the pond yet.

Yep, and the last time I had a gun sent from the UK to here (and I suspect the US would be the same cost) it was nearly £200....

I was just looking at the Holt's December auction catalog when I saw this post.
If you buy a gun at Holt's and after you pay the applicable VAT what are your costs to get to Australia. I assume Australia GST however what else is there and what are the rough costs. A time delay as well I suppose.
Regards
Rick
