Got into Melbourne today and took the time to purchase a few items at "Franks" a shop my old man first took me to from a very very young age and incidentally where i bought my Mod 70 XTR 7mm Rem 30 plus years ago.Bought more fodder for it too.
Put a couple of faces to names and it was a good hour or more having a yarn to the staff checking out RF Binos etc.
Its new owners and staff are a vast improvement imo over the rather 'take it or leave it' attitude of the old owners.

Forum member MarkR related the tale of his recent posting of Banteng hunting etc with the add ons of boars and sambar up in the top end with Matty`s bro.
Theres lots of stock to peruse in this shop for sure and I would have been in major buy mode if not for the new camera lens I`m saving the bickies for.

Never bought anything from the Previous owners as they were always overpriced and the phone was always ''off the hook''

JG

What rangefinder binoculars did you look at and what sort of prices were they?

I had a look at some in Sweden too, Leica 10x56's. Would have been interested in they were x42's.

Overpriced was something the old shop was not known for.....Phones, that's another issue.

John, Gryph was looking at the Leica 10X42 RF binos. Normal retail was around the $2700 mark but we did have a few at special pricing. Not sure if any of the one's on special are left.
I know I bought a pair and used them in the N.T. last week.....

Cheers,
Mark.

If they were the HD's and you have any left on special, I'd apopreciate a PM with the price as I am shortly going to buy a pair....was just weighing up between those and the new Swaros.

Mark has answered JH,they were surprisingly light and small sized,as you know I use 10 x 42 Swaro`s and had a real surprise with the size of the leicas in comparison..clarity is never an issue.
The Leicas carry the HDef in the RF`s,however the swaro RF`s dont have HD,something to ponder.

Re above "overpricing" I agree that was never part of it,the sons taking over from Frank knew they had customers coming constantly due to ther lower prices but treated them with disdain, phones? never answered.
