Tried out the new bolt peep yesterday.
      #217828 - 11/10/12 03:54 AM

Because of my eyes/age, I've been wanting a bolt peep sight for my .404 mauser for awhile. They seem to be scarce. I found this one on ebay.co.uk a month ago.

I basicly stole it, only paying about $50 for it. The stem was the only thing broken on it. I then studied lots of lyman peeps on ebay and ended up buying this one for $102.

After combining parts I ended up with this.

I was able to hold 3" groups at 200yds from a bench with it. If anyone needs the rest of the one I stole the stem out of it fits a Savage 99 $50.

Looking good and they do shoot much better than most give them credit for dont they. I have a bridge mounted aperture for my own 404 but have a bolt mounted unit for my 7x57. Couldn't be happier and have had them both out on hunts where they make a very nicely balanced rifle handle so well.
