Interesting Style of Scope Mount - Identification required
      #217205 - 26/09/12 01:45 AM

I picked up a 6.5 x55 MS Model NO carbine. It had an interesting pivot type of scope mount and I am trying to find additional rings for it.

I think the rifle came out of Sweden or area as I do have another 1952 MS with these same mounts and rings from that area. They are the rings I am showing here.

If anyone knows about these, who made them, makes them or any knowledge at all - I appreciate your help.

There are no markings at all on the bases or the rings.

Thanks in advance.

It's the 1960s Steyr factory mount. Here is the page from the 1964 Shooter's Bible:

All right! - I cant believe I didnt see it as a Steyr mount in my searching!

To bad Eric's web appears down - now I am excited.

Funny thing is that of my two rifles with these mounts, the front mount is reversed from the other rifle.

thanks so much already.

I have a 1950 6.5 with the same mount.

Well that news disappoints me! Oh well, the search is half the fun.
