As sent by a member to me this morning.
      #217164 - 24/09/12 04:18 PM

This photo was taken from a pro roo shooter operating in the northwest region of South Australia.

After he shot ten roos, he would attend to them. All up fifty roos were taken, when he came back on the track he saw a few foxes feeding on the intestines.

That is an unusual sight.

Rem 1100 with an 8 shot magazine is needed, or something like a 300Wisper with a sound moderator.

What about a 22-250 with a silencer, you can pick them out 1X1 and make the fun last longer.

If a legitimate picture, that's two truck loads of foxes.

No fox problem around here. The coyotes cleaned them out several years ago, and they are just now starting to come back, along with the rabbits. I look at them as a part of the ecosystem and would much rather have them here than the coyotes, which are not native species.

This area was originally home to elk, bison and red wolves, none of which remain, except in controlled areas. White tail deer were reintroduced fifty years ago and have now increased to pest proportions, with no natural predators. There are not enough hunters to make a dent in the population. Almost every day, driving to and from home, I see two does, one with twins, the other with triplets. No wonder the population keeps exploding!

I saw foxes like that once in the Northern Flinders Ranges. a friend managing a sheep station shot a number of sickly sheep during a drought and a few days later every fox in sight was on the carcasses. My mate surprised me by pulling out an old single shot .22 with open sights and shooting several foxes in the brain well with the old clunker under the spotlight. Very good shooting.

G'Day Fella's,

Even these days at $12.00ish each, that's a fair bit of money!
Back in the Hay-Day, at $50.00 each (average), that's a heap of money!

Daryl, they were more likely to have been head shot with a .17Remington, or similar.....

Doh!

I haven't seen anything that neat and clean over in Ukraine or Russia, John.
