I've got an FN Mauser in-bound. This is a 1950's vintage commercial action in 300 H&H and I'd like to find some nicer bottom metal for it. Are there any options out there that will dress up the rifle without breaking the bank?

'09 Argentine with a little "tarting" up looks decent. I like the SunnyHill, but jeez' Andy is slow and far from cheap.
Here is a very nice example (sorry it is for a WBY, but the picture is there) http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=307223130 Ted Blackburn made very nice ones, but even more than a Grisel/Sunnyhill
Have you looked at Williams ???

Try New England Guns ?? not sure of their proper name but they sell the Recknagel parts which include the bottom metal.

Thanks for the input guys but I'm looking for less expensive options. I've got Sunny Hill bottom metal on a couple of my rifles but the investment in the 300 H&H is close to the price of their metal!
I assume if I could find metal off a 375 H&H Parker Hale or Mark X it would work fine?

PT&G is supposed to be coming out with a lightweight replacement bottom metal for the LR 98s. Not sure when it will be available - MidwayUSA has it listed as "Coming Soon" - but so is Christmas. Unless you talk to Dave Kiff, himself, it's hard to get the straight scoop at PT&G.

On several of my custom guns where I didn't want to spend a lot of money on glitz I used the bottom metal from Mark X Interarms Whitworth rifles. They have a push button floor plate release that is both very secure and easy to use. Plus they look really good. Go to Numrich Arms for the one they sell http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Detail.aspx?pid=881550D&catid=9270 They sell a copy of the 1909 bottom metal for less than $80. Keith
