I think it looks pretty good to. Test fired it today, it feels pretty good to shoot and the balance without the scope is great. But of course the open sights were far from dialled in. Did not hit the target at 50 yards, so a bit of work to do tomorrow at the range.

Ok, I had some more time right now than I thought so I got it weighed, 3,3kg and muzzle diameter was 1,6 cm. Did not have my precision tools handy right now.

By the proof markings it looks like it produced in June 1932

Here are a couple of pictures of the proof marks.

its something for kuduae but iirc there was a barrel maker Erich Kelber in suhl around 1930 who made barrels for a lot of gunmaker there like August Schüler.
the "EK" stamp maybe means him.

this is the barrel of my own G.G. -KABA 10,75x57
stamp with 631 is just one year older than your rifle

Really interesting, it looks like I will have to sharpen my skills in the German language if I want to do some more digging on the history on the possible makers. Just as well, since the next gun on my shopping list are a kipplaubüchsen in a suitable calibre.

How is the recoil on the 10,75? And how is the trigger on your gun Lancaster? I might have to do a little job on the trigger to get it as good as I want it.

recoil is something between the 9,3x57 Norma and a 9,3x62
the rifle itself is heavy so recoil is not a problem but the trigger was also very tight.

what is the serial number of your rifle? my own have 1347 and is proofed in 631. the 10,75 on egun lately had 1146 and the rifle in Finland now have 1159 what is very close together.
I ask myself if this serial number is only for this Mauser model.

First bid to offer would be 470€ and I´m quite sure the minimum price to sell would be at least 490€.

The serial number on mine is 3511. How much does your rifle weigh?

+/- 3700 gramm, barrel diameter at the muzzle 17,5mm
my rifle number 1347 proofed in 1931 and your's 3511 proofed one year later I think this could not mean the numbering was only for this special Mauser hunting rifle if in 9,3mm or 10,75mm. if at least 3511 rifles were made they must have been around in masses.

Or maybe it differs with what kind of calibre the rifle was made in. 1 for 10,75*57 and 3 for 9,3*57? So that the total number with mine is 511 rifles?

I have made up my first batch of homemade ammunition for this rifle now. 286grains sellier & belliot soft nose, I loaded it to maximum according to my reloading manual, and that should give me about 2035fps. I shall try a bit hotter load for it. The load was 43 grains of norma 201.

This load are not meant for hunting. They were cheap as dirt and they will hopefully help me to adjust the rear sight. I want to see the difference between the Norma 232 grain Fmj and this bullet. If the sights are set up for the heavier bullet I will use a heavier bullet for hunting, but if it shoots the same as the 232 norma fmj, I will have to adjust the rear sight a bit. It shoots 20 cm high and 2 inches to the right with the norma fmj.

Shoot 50 shots with the 9,3*57 today, and the sights seemed to be spot on with the 286 grain bullet. So I will try to get some more speed with that bullet, no signs on high pressure on the spent cartridges today. But I can`t get friendly with the trigger, so I will have to find a after market kit.
