Women Hunters and Shooters?
      #2164 - 24/03/03 08:40 AM

Gentlemen,

Tell me about your women. Do they hunt snd shoot? Do you encourage them or do you rather they don't carry out such hobbies?

Many in the US feel that the ladies hold a key to preserving "our" sporting lifestyle. Involvement by us girls means a higher probablility of family and children involvement which creates future generations of hunters and shooters.

I tend to agree as our society moves faster and faster towards total urbanization where the human animal has lost its way in the concrete jungle and is becoming brainwashed that we should be vegetarians and Disney'd into believing preditors are "bad" and vegetable eaters are the only good!

Is this happening in OZ?

Now, what say you!!!!!!!!!!!

Ann
My wife has no interest in guns or hunting, but unlike some the wifes of some of my mates, she supports what I do and allows me time to go hunting and fishing without complaining. In fact she has put an order in for some Barra! So I have been told to go fishing!!

I have asked her to come shooting with me, but its not her thing. And I prefer hunting by myself to much anyway

Anne

Sad to say I don't personally know of any female hunters in any of the the hunting clubs I belong to.

I have heard of some keen female hunters but so far they have been pretty rare on the ground. Some do have a bit of a shot but are not dedicated. A friend does do a little clay target shooting. I don't really frequent target shooting clubs though.

I've tried to buy a .20 gauge Beretta shotgun for my wife but she wasn't at all interested . Which also meant I couldn't fit on a slip-on longer recoil pad for me .

Ann,

I've had some really superior fly fishing clients in the past and one particularly keen hunter that were ladies.
Being they were fly fishing clients, I never found out if they could really bait their own hook.

We have a few women in my local club. Some very accomplished. One lass by the age of 14 had hunted 6 countries from NZ to Alaska.

But alass my own wife wants nothing less than 5 star.
