the gunmaker agree with me that a sling ring on the thin barrel is maybe not the best idea. so I am thinking about the foreend now . what do you think is a BETTER position???
in front of it
or under the stock
the other one would get a new position 5 cm from the butt plate. the old hole in the stock is also to big for the screw.
meanwhile I got russian made Barnaul 9,3x64 softpoints with lacquered steel case's. 100 rounds for 80 euro so its cheaper than one box from RWS or Brennecke. some rifles like this stuff other dont want it. we will see
DWM Brennecke Tug, Barnaul softpoint and RWS full metall jacket

I like more the "in front of it" but a tad lower so that swivel screw is about 45 grade position from barrel line. And the rear one is IMHO better in front position.

I would be dubious about putting the sling swivel in this position, the 'purchase' a sling will have on it will be high at this angle and at the weaker part of the fore-end possibly leading to splitting out of the swivel.
