RWS v, Brenneke ammo?
      #201820 - 07/02/12 12:02 AM

Hi,

I've read (somewher on the 'net...) that people prefer the Brenneke ammunition in favor of the RWS ammo. The reasoning being that Brenneke is the original manufacturer if TIG and TUG, and RWS is a licence manufacturer. Some maintain that RWS's bullets aren't equally good.
Is there any truth to this at all? I'd be especially keen to hear from our Central European friends, as they likely have experiences woth both: the only Brenneke ammo I've come across are the shotgun slugs.

Having witnessed the performance on both galt and piglet wild boar this weekend with the RWS EVO I sure don't know what to expect from Brenneke ammo if it is better!

RWS is no longer a german firm it was before. its now part of an international consolidation so you dont know anymore the ammo or components where coming from in the box in your hands.
the price politic is MMMMMAD

till 1973 DWM was making the brennecke ammo but after the end RWS adopt it and work for brennecke under licence. some years ago some clever as....es from the ruag company find out it was not nessesary anymore to make this under licence because it was becoming free.
they were giving the brenneke bullets new names...
very, very bad behavior

brenneke is building now a new ammunition factory to load all ammo in the house including making brass.

slugs?? you must try your gun with every brand you get. shotguns react very sensitive and its impossible to say before wich slug will shot best in yours.

Yup.
The point I was making is that I have not come across Brenneke rifle ammo too much.

every simple softpoint bullet with the right velocity will kill.

if the TUG bullet comes out of a Brenneke or a RWS box makes no difference. I dont use brenneke rifle ammunition because till now dont having a rifle in a caliber they load. but when I had the choice between a specific load let say 7x64 TIG from Brenneke or RWS would take the Brenneke product every day. its a small firm that cares for the custumer, produce in the country and will not stop to make a special load out of some obscure reason's like RWS.

I have used RWS 6.5x55, 7x57,7mm mag and 30-06 on many kinds of game and I consider this the best of all factory ammunition. My only concern in availability when in the USA so I buy as much as I can when I can .Right now I am running low on 7x57 .Fortunately I have a huge stock of Lapua 7x57 to tide me over as I do much hunting with my 7x57 rifles.

7x57 Lapua?????
That must be self-loaded? Today Lapua makes no 7mm bullets.

Wrong! I bought a few cases of this (Lapua 173 grain 2,650 fps) and still have about 2,000 rounds left
