North Fork Cup Point Solid
      #210676 - 11/06/12 12:05 PM

Loaded up some 300 grain NF CPS's in my Brno 375H&H that Evan (advertising removed) sent to me.
Load was 78 grains of 2209 with a Federal 215 primer for 2600 fps.

They are a lot like the Woodleigh Hydro in that they are are solid but work a lot better than a standard FMJ.

Would be a great bullet to load up to take on a trip to Africa or the NT.
Here is a boar I shot this morning with them.

He was looking at me and I shot him above the eye.

Went through his heart.

Exited out his ribs.

Here is another entry.

and exit.Notice the Chick pea in the gut. Guilty as charged

Entry.

Exit.

These are a Mono bullet that I would be happy to run through a Double. In fact I have some in 470, 450 and 9.3mm.

I like the third eye you gave the boar. The cup point sure works a treat. Well done.

Yes I was after some to use in my 9.3X62 for my African trip, but he was held up on supply by paper work, so I ordered some NP's instead, I haven't got them either & I'm running out of time to work up a load !

Look as good as I thought.

Thank you for posting .

Neale, Have you circulated them through the action super fast and if so how did the feed?
Oh, and what is your standard load with 300grners? Did you need to down load for them?

Was shooting pigs on the run out of mobs and had no issues.
Load was 78 grains of 2209 with a magnum primer same as the 300 grain RN and they shot the same point of impact.

I think in some actions they would be a problem even more so than the Hydro.

Was the velocity the same as your standard load?
I have loaded to powder weights for the 470 just to make sure the velocity/ pressure is not to excessive.

I think they say same velocity with 8% less powder so I don't know if that is 8% more pressure or because of the driving bands they are 8% easier to push ?.

Yes, close enough and no extra pressure.
They look wild when you load them as in they should give pressure but that is not what I found in my 375.

They certainly make a mean hole in the pig.
