Hello pwm,

No catalog but a weblink http://www.internetgunclub.com/general/HistoryDetails.php

The Manton showroom in Calcutta was bought by an Indian group in 1947 after Independence and existed until very recently over there. I could put you to the people who bought the assetts of Manton, O C Daw, G M Biswas etc and amalgamated them into one company if you want.

Good hunting!

MehulKamdar:
Has anyone tried to sequence the Manton serial numbers, to your knowledge? I notice that the Manton Calcutta records were eaten by white ants according to the potted history at InternetGunClub. I have recently acquired a Manton .470 and would like to research the provenance. Up against it, I suspect.

I think I make a book review for a gun magazin here in Krautland. Many people looking for old catalogs.

Marakkai,

I know Joydip Biswas whose company J S Biswas bought up the Manton, O C Daw, Rodda etc assetts and shall check with him if he could help. I have his e-mail ID somewhere here, please give me a day or two to find it and send it to you. That said, I have no idea whether he has any of the historical records or not.

Good hunting!

pwm,

You might want to do an English article on the catalogues or even to translate your German one. Most US magazines are utterly trashy, pimping for silly guns that seem to come into and go out of fashion as regularly as clothing in Vogue or Cosmopolitan. It would be nice if we could have a link to your article to read it.

Good hunting!

this seems interesting, do you know the price?
Kynoch also have good catalogs like the 1911 jeffery, the 1903 eley and the 1936 eley/kynoch.
have a lot of old german gun catalogs here, if someone like to have such things tell it here.
mehul this wasn't planned as a great think, only a small article. I agree about modern gun magazin's. get one last week, 5 pages about 4W cars. when I like to have a car magazin I buy a car magazin.
