Very nice rifle, done in the heyday of G&H, and with very tasteful engraving. I like shooting with a peep site but I don't like receiver sights that sit next to the bolt handle. Surely I am not the only shooter who has gotten his thumb torn up by those confounded things.

Too bad G&H had to dismantle a Jeffery to build this rifle.
There is another example of this on their site for sale too, a 300 Wby built up on a Jeffery magnum Mauser action.
No wonder we always called them "Griffin and Why"

Who's "we"? Granted, G&H has gone sadly down hill in recent years, but their work from the '30's is first class in my book. Certainly my five G&H rifles occupy a place of honor in my gun room.

Xausa,

I agree - the prewar Griffins are about as good as it gets in my view. The postwar stuff isn't bad either.

Incidentally, the use of a Jeffery (marked) magnum mauser action on this particular G&H doesn't bother me in the least. I think it's a great looking rifle, but might want to swap the vent pad for a Silvers.
