Well I changed all the powder I had in the 500 shells because the powder I was using said my 275gr bullets would go 2034fps so fired a couple thru my conagraph to find out how fast they were going. This is what I got 1293fps. So now I get a little slower fps but it is a steady fps. I sighted it in with the 400gr bullets going 1600 fps at 100 yards and the three shot group was 2.5". I have a 2X scope on it. I have some powder on order that will go faster in my 500. When I get it I'll load the 400gr bullets a little faster. I don't shoot lead bullets in this gun. Don't want leaded barrel. The 350's will do 1700fps thats not to bad.
The 325's do a little over 1800 fps

Sounds like a handfull of handgun power! Wish I could afford to play with one. How is recoil? Ought to make a hell of a handgun for anything we have in N.A. I am gonna wait for someone to bring out a single action. They are a lot easier on the hand.

The recoil isn't bad. The S&W 500 weighs 5 lbs, with scope I would guess about 6 lbs. One thing I should say is that the 500 isn't for the faint of heart. Its a big powerful gun the most powerful in the world {production revolver with its own shell]

Have you used it on any critters yet? Ought to be impressive! I see they have come out with a 4" barrel now. That would make it a lot easier packing.

Where I live you can't handgun hunt, not yet anyway. I think someone is trying to get a handgun hunting bill threw.
When I go out of state to hunt in a state that you can hunt with a handgun I'll use it then, But I haven't shot any animals yet with it.I've been using rifles.

Don't have any coyotes around here.If a bear ever came in my back yard I would use it then, but no bears in this state unless they are in a zoo. This state is getting over populated with people. Used to see deer across the road. That is why I leave the state to go hunting animals that aren't here.

Has anyone else had any problems using LIL'GUN powder? Well I ordered some 500gr bullets for my S&W500 but don't have any load dada for them. Does anybody know where I could find some load dada for the 500gr bullets.

Well I loaded the 500 gr bullets with an accurate powder and shot a couple 400gr & 500gr bullets thru my conagraph
The 400 did 1620 fps, 1613 fps and the 500 did 1419 fps.
Not to bad huh? It felt like the 500 had less recoil then the 400s. Hornady is selling loaded 500 gr bullets for a very high price. They go 1425 fps about the same as my loaded ones.
