Overnighter.

Was supposed to defoliate cotton yesterday and today but the field was too wet and I bogged the sprayer.
I dialed the jets in to do it for me instead.

With a little free time and a hall pass from my wife I thought I would go to one of my places about 75kms from here and look for a pig or two.
Grabbed the Zastava 9.3 and the remaining 320 grain PP's I had loaded.

The neighbors have a failed sorghum crop and the pigs are padding to it every night.
Found a mob of about 16 or 18 in the first sand hill I went into.
Between the dogs and myself we got 9 out of the mob with this being the biggest boar.

Ended up with 15 for the afternoon.

This was the biggest boar for the trip.
There was two of them this size but in the cane grass, I couldn't get a shot.

Dogs taking a break after some hard work.

I was hunting by daylight this morning and got another 7.
Got a little sow straight up about 800 yards from the house then came across 18 or 20 pigs in a mob full noise heading for home. I shot one and the dogs caught 1 as well.
This was the best boar today.

I put this photo of a small pig in because he was one I shot off the hip as he bolted from the dogs past me at about 2m.

By fatboy404 at 2012-03-24
Got 22 pigs all up and am really happy how my dogs are working with George catching his own pigs including this black and white boar in the 4 wheeler lights on the way home last night and Duke has now caught 294 pigs.

Had to be home by lunch today to cart water for spraying and fix a tractor that was broken down.
Life goes on hey.

Cast your mind back to last year, it's a ploy..... he bogs the tractor each year so that he can go hunting.

Just joking Neale, well done Mate and just noticed the 'Aerials' on the two dogs, at least these two won't get lost.

Cheers Mate,

Jeff

Actually that was a lie! Pre and during vintage was seeing dozens of rabbits at a time. And quail galore too.

Now I have a bit more time ... am lucky to see one or two during daylight and have not seen a quail fly at all.

The quail may have been disturbed by these bloody big tractors and harvesters going through everywhere.

Will keep trying though, they must all be hiding ...

Neale's pigs are always good medicine.
