455 Webley brass?
      #204948 - 11/03/12 08:13 PM

I need some new brass for an old mkII, and I can only find the bertram stamped in online stores but would prefer fiocchi or hornady. I did find some in Canada but they wont Ship to either Europe or US.

Anyone that knows a store in US that stocks them?

When I had and used a .455 Webley, I made all my cases from 45 Colt brass. Easy to do if you can access a small lathe and this brass is easily and cheaply available from many manufacturers. I only made up 100 cases and they never wore out in lots of shooting. Used 45 ACP dies to reload.
Just a thought.

Several months ago I bought some Hornady .455 Mk. II brass from Graf & Sons. It is excellent brass. I see now they are out of stock. You may have to wait for another run or buy loaded ammo.

Yes agree we do get a bit lazy with age, but no problem with taking the rims down. I had a look to see if I had any rounds left from my days of shooting the 455 Webley, a 4" barreled MKVI, and discovered they were Federal cases I had used to make up from 45 Colt. Shown below are the loads I used, a 185gr Winchester FMJ, a 250gr Hornady HP and my own 250gr Cast. Did shoot a few feral goats, a couple of red deer and quite a few, rabbit, hare and opossum with my Webley mostly all with the accurate cast load.

Although a big heavy revolver my young step daughter and son, 9 and 6 years old at the time, used to enjoy shooting the Webley, with me holding their hands in mine to absorb some recoil of course. Great fun.
