I don't know if this is your beautiful rifle or not, so I hope you will not take offence, but why would someone choose a relatively mild perforiming cartridge like the 8X57IRS to build a double rifle around? Two other rimmed 8mm cartridges, the 8X65RS and the 8X75RS come to mind, which are both really high performance calibers. I suppose ammunition availabilty could be a factor, but that seems unlikely.

None taken :-)
For European hunting the perfect caliber imho. Mild in recoil, and very fast post shot recovery, which is important for driven boar hunting. More than adequate for Europe, for which it was made.

Beautiful Rifle!!

Great caliber choice too. I used to own a boxlock ejector rifle for the same cartridge. Excellent for deer and pig or black bear.

Cheers

Do you have a photo of the blitz action, out of the rifle?

It is hard to tell from the photos and without an examination of this fine rifle, but it looks to me to be an Anson & Deeley design action and not a blitz action. The narrow trigger plate and the screws on the top side of the action say "A & D" to me. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

It's a fine rifle. Thanks for posting.

Yes, you are right, I copy pasted from my other gun description by mistake, a J.Fanzoj O/U blitz. I will post that gun also, but currently I dont have it with me.

Itīs a nice rifle, looks like good wood also. The 8x57 is good for Roedeer, Boars and Mooses, useful for european hunting. /S
