Obendorf action
      #203967 - 28/02/12 09:13 AM

Gents,

I've come across an intermediate length Obendorf Double Square Bridge Mauser action, serial # 1209xx with all matching #s. Unfortunately, at some time in the past, the bridges were drilled but the holes don't go through the action. Any rough idea idea as to a price? I have pictures if needed.

Thanks

The holes can be fairly easily filled and the checkering or grooves recut on the tops of the bridges. Almost imperceptable then.

I see this action is on gunsinternational right now.
Would be a good action to build on for sure. Too bad about the bolt handle though.

Huvious,

You'll have to educate me. As a Lefty I've never studied up on these. What is wrong with the bolt handle?

Yep.
The bolt has been bent downward near the root and then bent in an arc outward again.
This was done to clear the scope once mounted.
It looks like it could have just been bent and not ground which is a good thing. Sometimes the outer surface of the bolt is hollow ground to help clear the scope too which can only be returned to an original configuration by replacing the bolt handle entirely.
