The .375 Commemorative "1912-2012 Centenary"

Quote:

Bolt Action Magazine Rifle Series, Numbers: 4901 - 4925

Over the years Holland & Holland have marked important events in the Company's history by building special Commemorative sets of shotguns and rifles. There cannot be any doubt that the centenary of the peerles .375 H&H Magnum cartridge is such a landmark.

The twenty-five inscribed and numbered rifles will be made to our classic configuration with three levels of features and embellishment. In keeping with previous projects the series of rifles will also be celebrated by the issue of a commemorative brochure.

That is one good looking rifle.

Have not looked at the price but would love to have the $'s to buy one.

No. While it's a gorgeous rifle it probably will cost more than my newest car. I already have a superlatively accurate hunting .375 and I need nor want a 'gun safe queen'.

Nice shiny new one........? Not for me thanks.

I'd rather one of the old girls that's gone the rounds with many seasons in the dust and muck. Scratched, blueing rubbed, dings and gouges in the woodwork and a moment in every mark.

I will have one! And put those 'working marks' on it quick smart...like all rifles, they have to start somewhere in the dings/scratches world.

I like the barrel profile too - graceful. Nice and heavy for comfortable shooting but looks really racy, too.

I don't like the green band on the scope...

A lot of money with the U.S Dollar not doing to well almost 59 K to over 72K for the high end wood. They seem to be selling them never the less they have 11 out of 25 still to be had. A D'Arcy Echols Legend seems to be a huge bargain and he is not cheap by any means. I could buy a Piper Super Cub for that amount of money. Or still go on a pretty good hunting trip. A lot of good cartridges are coming up on 100 or just have, 375 H+H 416 Rigby come to mind, in another 14 years it will be the 270, In four years it will be the Centernary of the West Point class of 1915. I wonder if anybody will even notice, the Plebs just started, this passed July.

The best way I can think of to honor the venerable .375 H&H is to hunt game worthy of it with it. Not just acquiring another safe queen. Albeit another safe queen with panache.

Kind regards,

albertan

Magnificent rifle! Hopefully, at least some of those who buy them will hunt with them. It would be a rare privilege to hunt with something as beautiful as this.

The butt's shape appears to be right with the scope height and would point nicely - hairs on target the instant it touched the cheek.

She is a beauty. Perhaps I could marry that rifle, and pay for it for the rest of my life.
