Heads Up on Ruger #1 Safety Button
      #197775 - 25/12/11 08:56 AM

There is hope for all of us having brass hang up on that button.
I'm going to get 2 of them!

While this isn't as elegant as the ones done by Alex Beer it's much better than the ones done by Ruger. Hopefully it'll be as funtional!

That's correct! It always seems to hang up unless you tilt it. PITA.. This should help a lot. Mr Beer makes a much nicer one though.

That's a great find. Should be a good fix. Wonder why Ruger has gone all these years with their problem safety?

Still, I think Alex Beer has the more elegant fix.

With a bit of filing, this one could be smoothed out even more.
I think I will try one on the 450/400 and smooth out the rear edge. That should keep my right thumb happy.

Is this for the later or earlier #1's? As posted on the Ruger forum, there is a difference.

Which Ruger forum? .net or .com? Or another? I didn't see any remarks about this.

I've got 1 of each but I'll ask abou it on Tuesday when I call. I'll let you know.

Good find Mike. I would think this will sell well. Like others I think Alex's is a much nicer design.

From a external axam the only difference is the length of the front and rear tangs.

They surely designed it this way but that doesn't mean that it is correct or that it should stay that way IMO.

Same here.

On one of the N0.1's I had if you moved the lever down fast the case would hit the safety and bounce back into the chamber.
