They always look big in velvet. Be interesting to see him later.

I had a mate with me that is a very experienced "red" man,he was of the opinion that the stag is gonna be a 'good one',I thought much the same.

Looking at how long the tines are already and he has at least a couple of months of growing to do to length the antlers, I reckon your mate is spot on.

Crossing my fingers, he ends up on your wall next year.

He is living in a place frequented by the Light Brigade Nitro this will test him out having a decent set on top if they see him.

Well done of you to get that good focus in the pic. You probably didnīt have much time. AF can be tricky sometimes. Nice stag!

No he was on his toes and being a deer just 'turned and was gone' in pines like that I was fortunate to get a reasonable pic or two.

Yes its great country and there is a lot of it too but it has taken years of searching and with some luck to find the deer. They are still wild as and can never be guaranteed to be 'there' when one hunts for them.
I get frustrated as well as any other but its all part of the allure of hunting wild and free animals such as deer.

Thats why they call it "hunting and not shooting" like a lot of my pig chasing.
