S&W N-Frame Lineup
      #193731 - 14/11/11 12:34 AM

A few N-Frame Smith & Wessons I've gathered lately. Just thought I would share an image.

From left to right, back row:

Model 1955 Target .45ACP - very early, delivered in 1955. 6.5" barrel.

Model 1950 Target .44 Spl. - dates to 1955. 6.5" barrel.

Model 1955 Target .45ACP - Model 25-2 - dates to 1980. 6" barrel.

From left to right, front row:

Model 1950 Target .44 Spl. - delivered 1954. 6.5" barrel. Very rare with factory fitted lanyard loop.

.357 Magnum (pre-Model 27) dates to 1954. 6" barrel.

Model 27-2, dates to 1973. 5" barrel.

As most of you will know, the Model 1955 Target uses either "half-moon" or "full-moon" clips to hold the rimless round and enable extraction. The full-moon clips are just like a handy speed loader. Here's a rather silly photo of me hamming it up with ten "full-moon" clips ready to go. My daughter took this picture at the shooting range yesterday. All in good fun, and what a beautiful day we had!

Looks like a nice pile!

Those old .45 target revolvers are so cool.
How did they all shoot?

Cheers

I just shot the older .45 yesterday. It shoots like a dream and there's quite a love affair brewing. The newer .45 is NIB unfired. I'll probably sell it rather than shoot it. Don't have the heart to bust the cherry.

G'Day Capt Curl,

Nice, Real Nice!
Your a lucky man!!!

Brings back fond memories of the N Frame I used to own.
It was a S&W 125th anniversary commemorative, serial number 699 in 45 Colt (6 1/2").

Unfortunately, some slimy political animal (FJWH) didn't trust me with it and a heap of other firearms, so he confiscated them off me!
Luckily, whilst all the others were cut up, the above S&W is still in one piece, in storage at the AFP (Australian Federal Police) firearms section here at Weston, Canberra, A.C.T!

Thanks for the above image and the memories!!!

Doh!

I'd be plunking with the .44 SPL's, myself.
Nice!

Oh how I miss my 4" Model 25 in 45 Long Colt. I had to hand it in when the British government decided that, as an English citizen, I was no longer fit to own it. This was after the Dunblane tragedy. These days I can't have a 6 shot revolver but I can have my 10 shot Trapper carbine in the same calibre.
