So 5200 killed, that leaves how many million left ????

Re culling, I also heard that a fair bit of the culling up NT is now done by the Gov't instead of contractors.

Semantics I know, but they double their population every 9 years. On our first trip after camels we would have seen 100 camels for every single Red Kangaroo.

I doubt the average Aussie has any idea of their numbers. They tend to walk through fences making them a real pest for graziers.

tophet

As you well know, the non shooting / non outdoors type has no idea about feral's in this country or what they do.
A few farmers fences, pppppphhhh, no one cares.

Use the Buffalo example in the NT. The numbers had become so big that they were literally destroying their own habitat, as clearly seen by photos of flood plains before Buffalo, after the big expansion and then the return to normal after the BTEC shootings.

Now, if BTEC hadn't come along, would the Gov't have had any pressure to seriously take them all out at the considerable expense ?

I somehow doubt it.
