Pedersoli scope mount
      #188141 - 19/08/11 02:36 AM

I posted a while back about mounting a scope on my Pedersoli hammer rifle in 45-70.The base and mount are on and set up with a weaver 1 x 3 20mm scope.Everything is aluminum to minimize the effect on the barrels and regulation.Shot the arrangement this morning and it did change the regulation a bit.Where it was hitting paralel out as far as I had shot it, now it is spreading apart
and some vertical separation. The spread at 100 yards is consistent at 3 3/4 inches left to right and about 1 1/2 inches vertical.Probably good enough for anything it will get used for by me.Buggs me though and will start tweaking to find out if it will improve-with open sights it was noticably more consistent with about 1 inch left to right and 3/4 inch vertical at the same distance. Had much better eye sight back then. The hits from both barrels are very consistent at hitting in the same place making two predictable groups, so lets see what I can do with it. Stay Tuned.

This is an update on my scope mount project.I just returned home yesterday from a nine day stay in a hospital.Things are going to be delayed for quite some time now.Started with rectal bleeding and got worse from there-seven units of blood & took out a piece of colon.Won't be driving for a good while much less shooting or working in my shop.I will get a update out when the project gets finished-always something in the way.

Mike,

Sorry to hear about your medical problems. Hope you get well soon.

Interesting to read of the change in regulation results as a result of adding a scope. Will be interesting to see how or if you can manage to improve on it.

Are the scope mounts QD?

The scope mounts are not QD style.Since my vision is not very good any more I did'nt see the need as I can not see the front sight well enough to use an open sight on it any more.If a miracle would give me better vision it would not be hard to change it over to QD with the existing base.
