That's really nice! I have one of their Mauser 98's in .318WR.They appear to have the same pistol grip.

A really nice example.
I am sure you will find it an absolute pleasure to shoot, I know mine is.
Funny how, being a Mauser fan, the Lee Speed never really grabbed my attention before I owned one. Now I am always on the lookout for another nice one. They are just wonderful!

Could I ask FrankFarmer to post a picture of the front sight on his Lee Speed please. I have one which I'm considering restoring which will included cutting the barrel back an inch or so (some damage there) and removing the current bastardised front sight.

Re. request of Oldbrit, hope this helps.

The sight base measures:
1.30 long
3.80 high (from side of concave base)
base.500 wide at barrel - tapers to .400 at top
bead is .200 above top of base.
bead is .425 above top of barrel.
bead is .200 high
