A Pretty Pair
      #183189 - 07/06/11 09:51 AM

On the weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely pair of Lee Speeds for the lucky owner-
a nice No.2 pattern and a recently acquired No.1 pattern of distinctly Scottish ancestry.

I'll let Peter fill you in with the details in a following post.

Enjoy!

Got to love that Pistol grip on the lower one. Very nice.

Question for Lee Speed experts.

Some have a chain connecting the magazine to the gun.

Why do some have it and some not and it seems some don't even have the attachment points for the chain ?

Thanks

.

Thank you for posting the photo's Tony, they came out better than any I've taken so far.
The top rifle was imported from England last year, I traded a P14 sniper in poor condition for it. The lower one is the one I "won" at the Melbourne arms auction last month, When I received it I was less than impressed but when all the grime had been cleaned away I was pretty happy with it, the neglected state of the rifle was a mixed blessing ,none of the screws had been damaged but heavy corrosion on the butt plate has all but obliterated the engraving which is a bit of a bummer, maybe evil bay will provide a replacement.
The 2 rifles are similar but at the same time different, the bolt handles are different as are the graduations one the long range sight, little things which make them interesting.

cheers
Pete

Beautiful rifles! Age cannot wither them nor custom stale their infinite variety to misquote Shakespeare!
