Re the "fish scale" chequering (if you can call it that), a mate has a gun with that on it which until I actually saw it in the flesh I didn't like it.

I would have to rate that as one of the uglyest stocks I have seen. Not keen on the metal work.
Mind you the workmanship looks good.

LOL, Lancaster! Maybe the fish scales indicate that it is meant to be used as a boat anchor or to be thrown into the sea?

this are good ideas but, I would buy this "rifle" for 100 euro as a new project, clean all this modern art with a belt sander and it could start again

A gun's a gun - I'd shoot it. Looks like it would do the job. No need to be snobs gentlemen (of course, I wouldn't pay a penny over $300 for it...)

If you paid me to take it off you I´d send the money to a charity and I´d raffle the rifle and send that money to a charity, assuming I could find a half wit willing to bid on it !!! Hideous beyond description but each to his own !, best, Mike

Thankfully, the maker left more than enough wood to save the stock. The cheekpiece, ugly as it is, is only chisels, rasps, files and an orbital sander away from being quite nicely repaired.
I don't like the bolt knob one bit but it's salvagable, and the skeletonized butt plate looks OK to me - bit of a kicker on a .50. All the foofarah needs to disappear, like the squared gaurd and side plates on the stock.
Probably worth $400.00 to $500.00 for turning into something nice, considering the chambering and action in good shape. Only needs wood work + the bolt, afterall.
Anytime you can get an inlet pre-carved stock, nicely barreled action for 4 to 5 hundred - that's a good deal - here, anyway- especially if the action work is done for a .500 Jeffery - with sights, yet - I'd certainly buy it, for that, in a heart beat.

What is clear about this, MONEY will overcome ART and FUNCTION! I will applaud the gun-maker,to be able to stay focused thru to completion and getting it out the door took some balls....

Huh. Yeah that's pretty different all right, but it's nice someone could get what they want. Seems some people are attracted to ugly guns. Perfect example is the Glock here in the US. Poor design and ugly as sin yet they fly off the shelves. To each their own.

Glocks have two views... the Good guy sees the back end and the Bad guy sees the front..for a second! It works and what's in the middle is not Art work, but a "save your ass" tool.....

I don't care for the grip angle, it feels very awkward in my hands and I can't point shoot it. It's chunky and cubic, looks like it's made of Legos. The "safety" is on the trigger. It won't fire unless you pull the trigger. Seems kinda silly to me. But like I said, to each their own and they do sell like hotcakes.
The gun in the OP has potential. As was said previously, a few hours with a chisel and a belt sander and you could come out with something really elegant. I kinda like the fish scale look, I think I would leave that on the grip area.

Funny that grip angle thing, you hear one "expert" tell you a Luger is the most naturally pointing pistol there is then next minute another "expert" is saying the opposite. Have to try them and see I suppose, best Mike

The stock has nice grain but badly needs to be slimmed down into a classic pattern and the buttplate looks nice also.

GENTLEMAN GENTLEMAN, PLEASE we want forget that this is nitroexpress, please stay being polite and dont fight about the right grip angle of a pistol. I can understand that the pics of this abomination will insult you and free repressed violence but dont losing your sense of humour.
