Kambako Safaris Northern Mozambique
      #182392 - 24/05/11 08:27 PM

www.kambakosafaris.com with Director Jumbo Moore is an outfit I have enjoyed Three safaris with (Plus one more in two months time). Kambako's Niassa Reserve Safari concession is a great destination for a true Safari. Camps can be quite plush or if you prefer to rough it a bit you have options to stay at their light camps or simply roll out the bed rolls and sleep under the stars.
Flights arrive at the Mozambican coastal town of Pemba where Kambako have a beach lodge to help unwind or you could just transfer to their Private plane (a Cessna 207) after arriving for the 1.5 hour flight to the Lugenda river concession airstrip which is only twenty minutes from camp.

A view from Kambako camp.

Hi Adam,

You could say that photo was 'Picture Perfect' all the aspects of Safari in one photo. Good luck with your upcoming Safari ( You Lucky Bastard ) I had to say it, you are a very fortunate person being able to Safari on a regular basis.

Keep your powder dry and come back safe,

Cheers Mate,

Jeff Gray

Adam,

I know you have extensive Safari experience in Southern Africa. What is it about Kambako that has made you keep going back as opposed to other outfits ?

Hey Ozhunter,

that is a real crappy swimming pool at the beach lodge in the video. Only joking, looks wonderful. Hope to have a swim in it one day.

Watching the video right now.

I downloaded the video as a file and eventually got to watch it.

I see a nice pool at the lodge too! I've never got to swim in a pool at a safari camp yet. Leave too early to have a swim, rarely in camp for lunch, always having a sleep under a tree in the bush somewhere, and usually get back on to after dusk. Also with short safaris, seven days or so, no time for a rest day, unlike a twenty one day safari.

Looks like a really nice camp, on the video get to see the countryside well too.

Enjoyed the video, lots of Spots action.

Interesting the other plains game in the concession too.

Looks like a great place for a safari hunt.

I enjoy Zimbabwe a lot BUT you don't get as bigger wilderness experience as in Niassa.
Have looked at other outfits up there and they are often more pricey or do not have the game numbers which is a big consideration in Mozambique.
I also know the guys quiet well and would rather hunt with mates.
