But you are right.

Not that I give away much at all JH but I couldnt find any ref to "my area" haha.

There are though a few loose wanderers around the sambar range I visit that as truly wild deer go where they want,I haven't seen any reds for a real long time.I see sambar far more times than any reds.
I had seen a classy 10 pointer more than a year ago and only the once and that was a chance meeting only.I left him alone.
A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to witness a red and a sambar both free wild agents side by side on an open bush spur. Not too many pics as this are about, I havent seen any other photo captures myself.

That's a long haul so I suppose the reds are tip outs.

They have been out and about here for a dozen years they tell me or even longer. There are not too many about as every body and his gun get into them apparently.

With lots of nightforce cruisers with red lenses about no doubt. Same thing around the back end of the Buckland some time back giving the landowners who phoned the gundjies some measure of grief getting random discharges and spot sweeps. Scum all!

FWIW Zorro and his mob were/are mightly pissed but the "cuisine hunters" and their consumers have a ready market.

So much for ethics!

Those ethics are viewed with much disdain by the glow worm brigade and they just laugh it off.
It was good to read of a couple caught down in hog deer ground on the Prom not long ago. Prominent in hunt mag faces was one caught, that`s knocked him/them from the pedestal of "good hunter"

Gryph,
Interesting.

LED torches have made the whole thing so much easier now.
No need for a big spotlight.

Apart from the ethics of it (lack of), their is no sport / hunt in it anyway since they stand there like dumb idiots.

Which is what some seem never to understand or want to admit.

Ha ha, Gryph, I do now know where there are quite a few reds in NE Vic, and no, it is not in "your area" either.
