Roger,

Try our own CBE moulds in Australia, Jim Allison does a copy of the "Paradox" style cotton reel type bullet. It comes with both a hollow point pin and a solid pin.
From my lead, the hollow point weight 680 grains and the solid 730 grains.
www.castbulletengineering.com

Also NEI in Texas make a couple of designs.
www.neihandtools.com

And the maker I have not long found, and have ordered a mould from him, but haven't received it yet is Accurate Moulds in the USA.
www.accuratemolds.com

If you want a round ball mould in 1 thou increments, try Jeff Tanner in the UK.
www.jt-bullet-moulds.co.uk

I'm travelling with work at the moment, but can post photos of the CBE and one of the NEI moulds when I get home if you like?

Hope this helps.

Regards,
David.

Roger,
Picture uploaded for you, left to right we have -
a 570 grain round ball at .732" diameter, from Jeff Tanners mould, a 680 grain CBE hollow point, a 730 grain CBE solid and a 845 grain bulet from an NEI mould.
(bit much flash in the photos, sorry.)

Regards,
David

Jeff,
No problem, it's www.mountainmolds.com
Owned by a guy in the mountains in Idaho, it's really interesting to read his forums on the building of his house and shop etc, middle of nowhere with nothing but the basics, amazing what he has built, I'd be proud to have it on my land.

Regards,
David.

Hi David,

Thanks for that, I will have a 'Prowl' around his site a bit later on. You know what they say about being curious but I am always eager to learn.

Cheers,

Jeff Gray

Tom at Accuratemolds.com does this very quickly. 'Tarawa' and I already have used him with good sucess. Tarawa 's mold is for 12 g and is shown in th catalog. Mine is the 550 and 675 grn .622.

Dual cavity, dual weight mold and he didn't bat an eylash at the thought nor charge more! Most makes would laught at you for even thinking of this idea.

(edit) Your choice of materials. Brass, aluminum, or cast iron. Uses Lee 6 hole handles or RCBS IIRC.

AkMike,
The mould I've got coming from Tom will be my first one from him, I've heard some great things, I couldn't get over the price either, or the ability of different cavities etc at the same price.
Think I'll be using him a bit more by the sound of it.

Daryl, very nice indeed, are you using a steel shot wad and cutting the petals off? I found a brush wad at Precision Reloading in 12 ga, and I use that one.

Anyone else got any pictures of their 12/16/20/28/410 moulds?

Regards,
David.

This is the style of the first ball mould that I ever made, no sprue cutter and stepped for location. Mine was a little smaller though, .30cal for use in a .303 barrel.
Sorry, no pictures of it. It's been gone for 30+years.
