Took two of these pigs with the 300H&H single shot Holland & Holland rifle. No trophy but they should make good eating nonetheless.

A beautiful weapon and as always it is good to "Blood" them, every game taken is a trophy no matter how large or small as long as the hunt was ethical.

Cheers,

That rifle just gets better looking everytime you post a picture of it. Good shooting.

What a lovely rifle. Must be fun to hunt with.

Grenadier,

Fantastic! That rifle is simply gorgeous! As is the pig. I was talking to an old buddy from India who posts here as well and it is funny how, back there, people prefer to down smaller pigs because the meat is tender. If you do get an older and tougher animal, though, you could try pressure cooking. It often softens the meat up though, of course, you are limited in the number of dishes that you can cook with a pressure cooker. If you like Indian food, pressure cooked boar makes into pretty decent vindaloos.

Good hunting!

Mike,

Sorry I didn't express myself right there - you pressure cook the meat for 10 minutes, and then cook it however you want afterwards. The pressure cooking makes it soft.

Good hunting!
