Pato, according to the blue book, 2008, between 1898 and 1946 approx 125,000 commercial sporting Mausers were built, three action lenghts, normal rifle type B $1750 for 80% up to $4750 100% (god knows where you would find one) all the way up to the African type, $3000 for 80%, $8000 for 100%, hope this helps a bit, best, Mike

Sorry Pato, back again, I noticed you said it is a commercial sporter ..doh !! from the book it looks like a normal type B, schnabel foreend, hinged floorplate but earlier posts on here indicate there are chaps on here who know a load more about Mausers, how long is barrel ? blue book has it at 24" but looks longer ?, anyway price guide on that is 80% US$1750 up to US$4750 100%, pm me if you want the other levels from the book, sorry about earlier useless posts, best

Taking into account the scope and trigger mods, I would value this rifle at $3200 USD.
