I hope I didn't offend someone here just needed some help so I will ask again perhaps it got lost in the other posts.

Guys, my friend and I are working up loads for a upcoming Buff and plains game hunt for my 9.3x74R and have the softs working very well out of my o/u Merkle. My question is how about the solids, do I keep the powder loading the same or back it down some. We're using Woodliegh 287 gr. solids and softs, the softs are gouping under 1-1/2". Can someone help.

This is a good place to start.

To answer you question. I would back off a little and see how it shoots. I have a merkel SxS in .375H&H and have worked up reduced loads for my solids.

A rule of thumb is to first work up a good load for your soft point, then back off that load by three grains, and work up slowly for your solids,of the same weight, especially in a double rifle! The little 9.3X74R will absolutely surprise you as to it's effectiveness, on game! Good luck on your hunt,with your little double
